Working with us

Who we are as a firm

Our Race, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Aspirations

As a firm, we will not accept discrimination against any human being based on their race, ethnicity, gender identities/expressions, sexual orientations, physical/developmental ability, or religious beliefs. We are committed as a firm to fighting against the implicit and explicit biases that harm the communities where we live and work.

We know that better is both possible and necessary, including in our own firm. We at CFAR are committed to making a difference—by working with leaders, organizations, and communities to create space for dialogue and connection. Through our deeply held belief that differences are a virtue, not a liability, we believe we can help to create the impactful outcomes we seek.

Leaders have an important role in our collective next chapter to demonstrate values and build cultures that embrace differences, learning, hope, and commitment to change.

While the world around us continues to feel uncertain and divided, we see more that connects us while acknowledging our own work to do. CFAR stands firmly in our commitment to clients and to each other, to do better, to appreciate our starting place, and to bring compassion and dedication to issues of race, diversity, equity, and inclusion, wherever they show up in our lives.

Travel

The amount of travel required varies by role, but in general, consultants can expect to spend anywhere from 10% to 50% of your time traveling to client sites. This percentage is not fixed and will vary over time depending on the location of your clients and the specific needs of the projects you are working on.

Each year we host two all-staff offsite retreats where we bring together our entire team.

Onboarding process

We’ve developed a thoughtful and immersive onboarding process to welcome new employees and set them up for success. Over your first few weeks, you'll meet with a range of CFARians to learn about our culture, practices, and systems; shadow client work to experience our unique approach; and connect with a dedicated onboarding buddy. You will be fully supported in your journey to becoming an integral part of our team.

Beyond Client Work

At CFAR, we believe in empowering our employees to shape our culture and contribute their unique perspectives. All staff members are encouraged to join our various internal committees and groups, which drive important initiatives and conversations across the firm. Whether you are passionate about enhancing our culture, advancing RDEI efforts, strengthening our community, driving innovation, or exploring AI applications, there are meaningful ways to get involved and make an impact within CFAR.

Retirement Benefits

At CFAR, we're committed to helping you build a secure financial future. We offer retirement savings plans that provide you with the opportunity to save for your future in tax-advantaged ways after a one-year waiting period.

Our retirement benefits include the opportunity for you to save through voluntary contributions. These plans offer a range of investment options, allowing you to have control over how your retirement savings are invested. In addition, CFAR offers discretionary profit-sharing contributions to eligible employees' retirement accounts.

As a CFAR employee, you'll have access to valuable online tools and resources to help you plan and prepare for your financial future.

Professional development

At CFAR, every team member has a dedicated supervisor who provides ongoing support and guidance. We prioritize continuous growth and development, with annual opportunities for feedback and the setting of personalized development goals and targets at the start of each year.

Between company offsite retreats, access to coaches and mentors, and direct work with clients and principals, all team members are encouraged to develop their own learning journey.

Offices

CFAR has vibrant offices located in the heart of Philadelphia and Boston, where the majority of our staff live and work. We also have a small cohort of remote staff located across the U.S. who are fully integrated into our work and culture.

CFAR values in-person connections and understands the productivity and life balance that working from home provides. Aside from client travel, employees can expect to come to the office regularly, depending on their location, client travel schedules, and coordination with work teams.
